Tea bowl 'Rupture'
Thrown on the wheel using red clay with local Nexø sandstone, giving it a coarse, textured surface that feels true to its materials. Inside, a runny ash glaze flows, predictably, through the crack.
During throwing, a piece of sandstone hit the rim and tore the clay. Instead of fixing it, the tear was left as is. In the wood kiln, the tear softened and vitrified, becoming stable. Now, that tear is part of the bowl’s story—a rough, honest piece that shows the process and imperfections.
Diameter: 13.5 cm
Height: 7.3 cm
Weight: 293 g
All of our tea bowls are handmade, so each piece has its own unevenness, imperfections, and unique character. Colors may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. We’ve tried to show the glazes, textures, and feel of each bowl as best we could, but if you’re unsure about something or need more details, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
